Mt. Hotham Resort Hotham Village is spread out along the Alpine Road and is serviced by a free village bus service. University Ski Club is located at H3 in the map below. Note: This map is an inverse of the interactive map provided on the Hotham website. Please see the Links section of this website for more Mt. Hotham related information.
The main Hotham Central village (reference C2) is central to the majority of lifts (although it is located at the northern end of the village complex) and is the principal location for lift ticket sales, ski hire, shops, mountain administration and a range of other services. To get there, catch the village bus for 3 stops to the turnaround point. The Big D (ref J5) services the Davenport accommodation area and is one bus stop or a five minute walk south (Omeo direction) from the lodge. It provides a beginner ski area, lift ticket sales, ski hire and the General Store shop and bar. The General is the most convenient shopping location from USC. As well as Hotham Central and the General Store, food requirements (other than those supplied by the club) are available at licenced supermarkets at the Arlberg (ref F2, 2 stops on the bus in the Harrietville direction) or at Jack Frost (ref L5, 3 stops the other way). Lift tickets may be purchased at Hotham Central (White Crystal building) or at the Big D. A ticket selling station is also open at peak times at the base of the Village quad chair. This enables intermediate to advanced skiiers to ski or board directly from the USC lodge, link up with the Davenport Access Trail and purchase their ticket at the bottom. Cross country ski trails are free for all to use and run all the way from Hotham Central to Dinner Plain. The village sections of??? the trail system run parallel to the road on the western (uphill) side. An extensive system of groomed trails can be found around Christmas Hills and Wire Plain. Excellent touring can be found beyond the downhill ski area towards Mount Loch. |
